Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in West Sussex for a Senior Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. Reporting into the Principal Accountant, the postholder will provide accountancy support to Heads of Service & Budget Managers and will assist these Managers in managing their financial affairs including; Preparing the Revenue Budgets, Final Accounts & regular monitoring of specified services during the Councils’ annual budget cycle, closure of accounts and monthly monitoring reporting cycles.

The role will also include participation in specified projects, providing ad hoc financial advice, propose options and propose solutions for dealing with the financial issues raised by departmental projects.

Candidate Criteria

• AAT Qualified or Part Qualified CCAB Accountant  
• Experience of providing accountancy support across departments within a Local Authority
• Experience of budget monitoring, contributing to financial accounts and providing financial advice to stakeholders
• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
