Tower Hamlets Council is seeking enthusiastic and committed Youth Workers to deliver and develop high-quality youth work sessions as part of the Young Tower Hamlets universal ‘Safe Spaces’ offer.
About the Role As a Youth Worker, you will play a key role in the delivery of youth-led sessions across the borough, providing safe, inclusive, and positive environments for young people aged 11–19 (and up to 25 for those with SEND). These sessions are a core part of Tower Hamlets’ strategy to reduce violence, vulnerability and exploitation among young people.
You’ll be working in every ward of the borough to ensure that no young person is left without access to:

- Safe and welcoming spaces to spend time
- Positive, educational, and creative activities
- Support and guidance from skilled, trusted youth workers
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging youth work sessions
- Build strong, supportive relationships with young people
- Promote the development of young people’s personal and social skills
- Identify and support young people at risk of vulnerability or exploitation
- Signpost to other relevant services when additional support is needed
- Work in partnership with local services, schools, and community organisations
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are upheld at all times
- Passionate about youth development and social justice
- Experienced in working with young people in diverse communities
- Skilled at delivering engaging and inclusive group sessions
- Knowledgeable about the challenges facing young people today
- Able to work evenings and weekends where required
- Committed to creating a borough where every young person feels safe, supported, and inspired
- Help shape a safer, stronger Tower Hamlets for young people
