Young Person’s Coach
Location: Chichester, West Sussex (with travel around the county)
Duration: Initially 5 months
Hours: 37 per week
Rate: £27 per hour (umbrella) (£20 PAYE an hour)
Working Arrangements: 1 day per fortnight in the office, with some travel across West Sussex
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Young Person’s Coach to support vulnerable young people across West Sussex. You will provide one-to-one, intensive support, build trusted relationships, and enable young people to achieve positive outcomes. You will coordinate assessments, support engagement using the CANS tool, and work closely with professionals across education, health, youth justice, and social care. The role involves flexible working, including evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support to young people in complex circumstances
- Build trusted relationships and engage young people in co-produced support plans
- Coordinate CANS assessments and liaise with multi-agency professionals
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and maintain robust safeguarding practice
- Maintain accurate case records and reports
- Participate in reflective practice sessions and contribute to service innovation
Essential:
- Experience working with young people in complex circumstances (e.g., Youth Work, Youth Offending, Social Care, Education, Health)
- Strong engagement and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory frameworks
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and in the community
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of or willingness to train in the CANS assessment tool
- Experience in multi-agency planning and reflective practice
