Job Title: Workforce (Rota) Coordinator
Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a permanent Workforce Coordinator to join our established client, located in York.
We are looking for an experienced individual, who has experience within Rota Coordination, or Operation, within a healthcare setting. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute within a positive and vibrant team, making a real difference in the delivery of patient care.
Salary: £27,000
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm)
Location: York
About the Role In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring clinical and operational rotas are efficiently planned, resourced and maintained across our services.
You’ll liaise closely with clinical staff to ensure safe staffing levels, arrange locum cover when required, and maintain the right skill mix to support patient care. This is a fast-paced and demanding role, requiring strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
We will provide full training and a comprehensive induction to support your success in the role.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain rotas to ensure services are safely staffed each day.
- Act as the first point of contact for all rota queries.
- Monitor workforce gaps and arrange cover for planned and unplanned absences.
- Use the rota system to manage shifts, support clinicians, and ensure payroll data is accurate.
- Liaise with locum agencies to source cost-effective staffing solutions.
- Work collaboratively with the HR team on payroll processes and absence reporting.
- Provide reports, audits and updates as required.
- Build strong working relationships with clinical teams and external partners.
- Contribute to service improvements and promote best practice in rota management.
- Educated to A-Level / Level 3 standard or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience managing rotas or staff scheduling.
- Experience using SystmOne (S1)
- Experience in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
