Location: Slough
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Initial 3 months (with potential extension)
Hours: 4–12 hours per week (varied, termly courses)
Pay Rate: £32 per hour (Umbrella) (£25 PAYE an hour)

Slough Borough Council is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Sessional Tutors to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment programmes to residents of Slough and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

This is an exciting opportunity to support adult learners and contribute to the success of our Adult Learning Service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging courses in English, ESOL, Maths, and Digital Skills.
• Ensure teaching, learning and assessment meets quality standards set by the service, awarding bodies, and Ofsted.
• Support learners to achieve their goals through effective teaching and personalised learning.
• Contribute to wider service activities, including CPD, meetings and examination activities.
• Teach across daytime or evening sessions (Monday to Friday).

Requirements:

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Recent teaching experience in one or more of the subject areas.
• Strong understanding of assessment methods and Ofsted expectations.
• Ability to inspire and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
