Senior Project Manager Department: Vetting Transformation Project 
Location: Westminster, London 
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week
End Date: 31/07/2026
Pay: Up to £550 LTD per day (depending on experience)

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the Vetting Transformation Project, part of the wider Professionalism Programme. This initiative will strengthen organisational standards, reduce risk, and introduce new IT systems and proactive integrity screening.

As Senior Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of delivery — ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and quality standards, while engaging with senior stakeholders across the Met.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a high-profile transformation project, ensuring successful outcomes.
  
  
• Provide direction and leadership to the project team, building capability and fostering collaboration.
  
  
• Manage stakeholders at all levels, including director-level, building strong and trusted relationships.
  
  
• Own the business case and oversee delivery of project outputs, risks, dependencies, and benefits.
  
  
• Act as a key point of contact for the Programme Manager when required.
  
  

What We’re Looking For Essential skills & experience:

• Significant experience managing and delivering complex projects in large organisations.
  
  
• Strong background in project management, risk management, and stakeholder management.
  
  
• Ability to influence, negotiate and challenge senior stakeholders.
  
  
• Experience managing suppliers and contractors, ensuring value for money.
  
  
• Leadership skills to build, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
  
  

Desirable:

• Professional Project Management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP).
  
  
• Experience delivering transformation programmes within policing, government, or similar sectors.
