An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Consultant or Associate Director to join a national consultancy. This is a key position responsible for delivering high-quality planning advice across a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and employment sectors. The role will involve leading on applications, appraisals, appeals, land promotion, and enforcement matters, whilst playing a pivotal role in business development and client relationship management.

Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload, providing expert advice and building long-term client relationships.
- Prepare and submit complex planning applications and appeals.
- Attend and represent clients at committees, hearings, and public examinations.
- Undertake planning appraisals, policy research, and develop planning strategies.
- Write detailed reports with clear recommendations.
- Conduct site visits and attend client meetings as required.
- Contribute to business development through networking, fee proposals, and identifying opportunities.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues where appropriate.
- Degree in Town Planning or related field with full RTPI membership.
- Proven post-qualification experience within consultancy or local authority.
- Track record of managing complex planning projects and leading client accounts.
- In-depth knowledge of planning policy, legislation, and appeals processes.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience in business development and generating fee income.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
