Senior Building Surveyor

Senior Building Surveyor – Central London Housing Association
£300 PAYE / £350 Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35)
36 hours per week
3–6 month contract

We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to provide expert surveying support for a major Housing Association in Central London. This role will oversee all aspects of major works and complex reactive projects, leading on technical delivery while shaping improvements in the repairs and asset management function.
Responsibilities

• Conduct full building surveys, prepare detailed reports, and provide cost analysis.
• Manage programmes of works including disrepair, major repairs, and compliance-related projects.
• Prepare scheme designs, tender documents, and procurement strategies.
• Act as party wall surveyor, lead on dilapidations, and manage planning applications where required.
• Oversee contractor performance and drive service improvements using data and insight.
• Mentor surveyors and support colleagues in professional development.
• Represent the organisation externally with stakeholders and contractors.

Requirements

• Chartered membership (RICS or CIOB) with minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience.
• Strong project management experience across major works and asset management.
• Proven experience preparing tenders, cost appraisals, and managing accounts.
• Knowledge of legislation, compliance, and performance management frameworks.
• Excellent communication and IT skills.
