About the Role We are seeking an experienced SEN Caseworker (Assessment & Review) to join our busy SEND team based in Stockton. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of ongoing assessments from initial receipt through to the issue of final Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. You will play a vital role in supporting schools, families, and professionals to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.

You will play a vital role in supporting schools, families, and professionals to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of SEND assessments from start to finish.
- Lead and participate in Person-Centred Planning (PCP) meetings and termly school reviews.
- Draft, review, and finalise Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Handle decline decisions sensitively, ensuring families are fully informed and appropriately signposted to support services.
- Work closely with schools, professionals, and families to ensure statutory duties are met.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Proven experience as a SEND Caseworker, working at both SEND Support and statutory EHCP levels.
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and related legislation.
- Experience in leading PCP meetings and liaising with schools and families.
- Ability to manage a busy, high-volume caseload effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a sensitive and supportive approach when working with families.
- Full-time, office-based role in Dunedin House, Stockton.
