Resource Management Planner
Location: Crownhill Police Station, Plymouth
Salary: £12.53 per hour
Contract End Date: 31 July 2026
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend working (approx. every 5 weeks)
About the Role We are seeking a Resource Management Planner to deliver effective staffing plans for operational policing. You will ensure day-to-day policing activities are properly staffed, support planned or spontaneous operations, and provide managers with accurate data, reports, and analysis to guide resourcing decisions.
As the first point of contact for resource management enquiries, you will play a key role in maintaining the organisational skill base and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain staffing levels across operational policing activities.
- Accurately record and manage data in Force IT systems.
- Produce reports and analysis to support management decision-making.
- Present and explain resource plans to relevant managers.
- Support the maintenance of organisational skills and resources.
- Understanding of resource management and planning, including relevant IT systems.
- Knowledge of Police Regulations, Police Staff Handbook, and Working Time Regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook essential).
- Experience handling large datasets and identifying gaps or inconsistencies.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Openness to change and adaptability.
- Team working and respect for diversity.
- Effective communication and planning skills.
- Personal responsibility, resilience, and problem-solving capability.
