Recovery Worker – Substance Misuse Service

📍 Location: Grimsby
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 per week
📄 Contract: 3 months (with potential extension)

💰 Rates of Pay:
  • PAYE (exclusive of holiday pay): £15.59 per hour
  • PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay): £18.59 per hour
  • Umbrella rate: up to £21 per hour
About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Substance Misuse Support Service in Grimsby for an experienced and motivated Recovery Worker. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse to make positive changes in their lives.
As a Recovery Worker, you will provide direct support to service users, helping them to build recovery-focused plans, access community resources, and maintain long-term wellbeing. You’ll play a key role in delivering both one-to-one and group interventions in line with the service’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored recovery interventions to individuals affected by substance misuse.
  • Carry out assessments, create recovery plans, and monitor progress.
  • Provide harm reduction advice and relapse prevention support.
  • Facilitate both structured group work and one-to-one sessions.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships to encourage engagement.
  • Work in partnership with healthcare professionals, safeguarding teams, and community organisations.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and ensure compliance with service standards.
About You To succeed in this role, you should have:
✔ Previous experience in substance misuse, recovery work, or a related health/social care role.
✔ A good understanding of harm reduction, relapse prevention, and safeguarding.
✔ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate others.
✔ The ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
✔ A valid DBS (required for this position).
