Substance Misuse Recovery Worker – North Nottinghamshire

Service Care Solutions are supporting a UK-wide charity in their recruitment for an experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join their service in the North Nottinghamshire area.

Contract: 3–6 months
Pay: Up to £24 per hour (Umbrella) | PAYE: £19.50 per hour inclusive of holiday pay / £17.39 per hour exclusive of holiday pay
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join their team in the North Nottinghamshire area.

Role Overview:
You will provide structured support to service users experiencing drug and/or alcohol dependency, helping them move towards recovery and independence. This will involve managing a caseload, developing recovery plans, delivering keywork sessions, and coordinating with partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

• Substantial experience in a drug and alcohol, addictions, or wider substance misuse service (community or residential).
• Experience in completing comprehensive assessments and creating person-centred recovery care plans.
• Strong knowledge of harm reduction techniques, relapse prevention strategies, and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Experience in managing a caseload and maintaining accurate case notes.
• Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, social care, and criminal justice partners.
• Confident in delivering both 1-to-1 interventions and group sessions.
• Excellent communication and motivational skills, with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.

Desirable:

• Relevant qualification in substance misuse, counselling, social care, or a related field.
• Knowledge of local services and referral pathways in Nottinghamshire.
