Job Title: Qualified Electrician – Social Housing Repairs
Location: Various sites (tenant and client premises)
Rate: £26.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Ongoing / Full-time About the Role:
We are currently seeking a fully qualified and experienced Electrician to join our Repairs & Maintenance team. You will be responsible for carrying out a full range of electrical repairs and installations within residential properties, including both responsive repairs and planned works, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and excellent customer service.
This is a hands-on role working in tenants' homes and client premises, both internally and externally. You’ll also be expected to have additional skills across other trades and a flexible approach to multi-trade work. What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Carrying out electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance across housing stock.
  • Supporting the delivery of responsive repairs, planned works, and void property refurbishments.
  • Working to strict deadlines and budgets, escalating variations to supervisors when needed.
  • Interpreting construction drawings and specifications effectively.
  • Ensuring all works comply with relevant building regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Recording works in real time using PDA devices.
  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional communication at all times.
  • Supervising and mentoring apprentices as required, including reporting on their progress.
  • Operating a company van in line with the council’s vehicle policy.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in social housing repairs and maintenance (SH experience essential).
  • Strong understanding of current building regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Confidence using digital work management systems (PDAs).
  • A team player with a commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • JIB Gold Card (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
