Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)
About the Role
The Project Support Officer will play a key role in delivering the Families First Reform—a national initiative aimed at transforming children’s social care by providing earlier, more integrated support for families. This role supports the Families First Partnership Programme in Bradford, working closely with Family Help Lead Practitioners, Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams, and strategic safeguarding partners to ensure effective implementation of reforms that help families stay together and thrive.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain project plans, timelines, and governance documentation (e.g. action logs, risk registers).
- Organise and support multi-agency meetings, workshops, and steering groups.
- Collate and analyse programme data; produce progress and impact reports for senior leaders and DfE stakeholders.
- Liaise with local authorities, police, health, and education partners to align activities and manage dependencies.
- Assist in designing and delivering evaluation and learning activities.
- Manage logistics for project events and stakeholder communications (e.g. newsletters, briefings).
- Provide administrative support to the Programme Lead and Senior Responsible Officer.
Essential:
- NVQ/Diploma Level 4 in Project Management or equivalent (e.g. PRINCE2), or proven experience in end-to-end project delivery.
- Experience supporting projects from initiation to completion, including change implementation and benefits realisation.
- Knowledge of children’s services or transformation in public sector settings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop evidence-based solutions.
- Experience managing project documentation and stakeholder engagement.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the public sector or comparable organisation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in project planning tools and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
Essential:
- NVQ Level 4 in Project Management or equivalent qualification (e.g. PRINCE2).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Enhanced DBS check (including Children’s barred list) required.
- Willingness to disclose relevant criminal history if shortlisted.
