Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Practice Nurse to support Primary Care Centres in the Yorkshire Area.

Location: Yorkshire and surrounding areas
Shifts: Flexible - we work around your diary!
Contract: Locum - Block booking and Adhoc

Essential Criteria: 
Registered Nurse, Professional Membership with the NMC
- Evidence of post-registration training (e.g. cervical cytology, imms, chronic disease management)
- Experience supporting within a General Practice Settings 

Duties:

As a Practice Nurse working within a General Practice or Primary Care setting, your role is essential to delivering high-quality, patient-centred nursing care. Key responsibilities typically include:

  • Chronic disease management – monitoring and supporting patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, and hypertension

  • Immunisations and vaccinations – including childhood immunisations, travel vaccines, and flu clinics

  • Cervical screening (smear tests) – performing routine cytology in line with national guidelines

  • Wound care and dressings – assessment and treatment of minor injuries, post-operative wounds, and leg ulcers

  • Health screening and NHS health checks – conducting routine health assessments and lifestyle advice

  • Assisting with minor surgery and other clinical procedures – preparing equipment, supporting GPs, and providing aftercare

  • Management of treatment room supplies and infection control – maintaining clinical equipment and following health and safety protocols

  • Patient education and health promotion – offering advice on diet, smoking cessation, weight management, and general wellbeing

  • Maintaining accurate clinical records – using systems such as EMIS or SystmOne
