Job Title: PCSO Assessor
Location: Hybrid (blend of home and Dorset Police sites)
Hours: 37 per week (Monday – Friday, 9:00–17:00)
Contract End Date: 31st March 2026
Pay Rate: £17.24 per hour PAYE (Umbrella)


About the Role We are seeking a motivated and professional PCSO Assessor to support learners undertaking the Level 4 Diploma in Community Policing Practice. You will play a vital role in guiding, assessing, and supporting PCSO students as they develop the skills needed to serve their communities.


Key Responsibilities

• Assess learner competence in the workplace against qualification standards.
  
  
• Provide feedback, coaching, and support to help learners achieve their qualification.
  
  
• Plan and deliver fair, reliable, and consistent assessments.
  
  
• Keep accurate records and provide reports to Internal Quality Assurers.
  
  
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all assessment activities.
  
  
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high assessment standards.
  
  

About You Essential:

• Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, or equivalent).
  
  
• Experience in assessing workplace competence.
  
  
• Strong communication, coaching, and organisational skills.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  
  
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and fair assessment.
  
  

Desirable:

• Experience with policing or PCSO qualifications.
  
  
• Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) experience.
  
  
• Knowledge of the Level 4 Diploma in Community Policing Practice.
