Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities of the Multi-Skilled Operative

As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you'll be responsible for a variety of duties, including:

• Carrying out carpentry, plumbing, and masonry tasks internally and externally across properties and communal areas.
• Ensuring all work meets professional standards, complies with building regulations, and adheres to best practices.
• Communicating effectively with residents, colleagues, and clients; escalating complex issues to the line manager.
• Following all health and safety legislation, including risk assessments, method statements, and PPE protocols.
• Achieving first-time fixes and completing all tasks efficiently within deadlines.
• Using the Schedule of Rates to accurately cost repairs and ensure job valuations are correct.
• Participating in emergency call-out rotas on a scheduled basis.
• Completing accurate paperwork, job records, and updating progress via smart devices.
• Ordering materials from approved suppliers and maintaining an organized, cost-effective van.
• Providing assistance to other trades and undertaking training to develop additional skills.
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintaining company tools and equipment to high standards.
• Performing other related duties as required to deliver excellent service to residents.

Candidate Requirements

To succeed as a Multi-Skilled Operative, you’ll need:

• Proven experience in plumbing, carpentry, and masonry tasks.
• Experience working on diverse property types.
• Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade.
• A full clean UK driving licence.
• Physically fit and capable of manual work.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work under pressure.
