We are currently recruiting for an Estates Manager (Mechanical) to support a busy NHS Trust in West London. This role is key to the safe and effective delivery of mechanical engineering and water safety services across multiple healthcare sites.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operational management of mechanical engineering and water safety systems.
- Act as Responsible/Authorised Person for systems within your area of expertise (e.g., water safety, ventilation, medical gases).
- Ensure statutory compliance, NHS guidance, and health & safety standards are met across all estates activities.
- Manage external contractors and in-house teams, ensuring services deliver value for money and meet contractual obligations.
- Lead on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), compliance documentation, and condition surveys.
- Support project works, commissioning, and handover processes as Estates Technical Representative.
- Provide leadership, training, and appraisals for estates staff, ensuring performance and development objectives are met.
- Participate in the estates on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services (or equivalent experience).
- Strong estates management experience, including contract and staff management.
- Knowledge of NHS HTMs/HBNs and statutory compliance frameworks.
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Authorised Person (Water Safety, Ventilation, or related disciplines).
- Experience within NHS estates or similar healthcare/public sector environment desirable.
