A client within the Public Sector based in Staffordshire is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a health and safety environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to produce and deliver an effective health and safety management system across the council, ensuring compliance with legal and moral obligations to employees, contractors and the public.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Managing and motivating the Health and Safety Support Team.
• Providing expert advice and guidance to directorates, managers, and schools.
• Developing and implementing health and safety policies and management systems.
• Advising senior management on complex health and safety issues.
• Promoting a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture across the organisation..
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
• CMIOSH status.
• Experience managing a team of health and safety staff.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Project management experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, including working with Trade Unions.
• Ability to influence senior managers and resolve complex health and safety issues.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £50 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £40 per hour PAYE).
