Experienced Social Workers for Adolescent Safeguarding

Dudley Council is looking for experienced Social Workers to join their Adolescent Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking service that is committed to protecting young people, reducing risks, and promoting positive outcomes for adolescents and their families.
This team plays a key role in supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in Dudley, including those at risk of exploitation, missing episodes, and complex safeguarding concerns.

Responsibilities
As a Social Worker in the Adolescent Safeguarding Team, you will:

• Hold a caseload of young people requiring statutory intervention, including child protection, child in need, and those in care.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans that address risks and build on strengths.
• Work directly with young people and their families, using evidence-based approaches to support positive change.
• Collaborate with schools, police, health professionals, and voluntary agencies to deliver a multi-agency safeguarding response.
• Contribute to and attend statutory meetings including child protection conferences, LAC reviews, and court proceedings.
• Maintain accurate case records in line with statutory requirements and local policies.

Requirements
We are seeking Social Workers who can bring:

• Registration with Social Work England and a recognised social work qualification.
• Significant experience in safeguarding and statutory children’s social work, ideally including adolescent safeguarding.
• Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
• Experience of working with adolescents at risk of exploitation, contextual safeguarding, or complex safeguarding cases is desirable.
• Excellent communication, resilience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
