Responsibilities
As a Family Safeguarding Social Worker, you will:
- Manage a caseload of children and families subject to child protection, child in need, and care proceedings.
- Undertake assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions that promote positive change and improve outcomes.
- Work within the Family Safeguarding Model, collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary partners such as domestic abuse specialists, mental health workers, and substance misuse practitioners.
- Attend and contribute to statutory meetings including case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.
- Ensure that all work is completed in line with statutory requirements, council policies, and best practice standards.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records.
We are looking for a professional who can bring:
- Social Work England registration and a recognised social work qualification.
- Proven experience in safeguarding and statutory children’s social work, including court work.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- A commitment to working in partnership with families, placing the child at the centre of all practice.
- Excellent communication, resilience, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
