Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

? Starting Salary: £48,000 per annum (with annual performance-based increases)
Are you an experienced Deputy Manager ready to take the next step, or a newly registered Children’s Home Manager looking for the perfect opportunity to lead and develop a service? This is an exciting chance to become the Registered Manager of a brand-new residential children’s home in Salford, with the full support of a dedicated senior leadership team.
About the Role As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and growth of a children’s residential home providing high-quality care for young people with complex needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), and/or trauma backgrounds.

About the Role As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and growth of a children’s residential home providing high-quality care for young people with complex needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), and/or trauma backgrounds.
Your role will focus on:
- Ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that enables children to thrive.
- Leading and inspiring a team of residential support staff, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and committed to delivering outstanding care.
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
- Developing individualised care plans and placement strategies tailored to each child’s needs.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities, external agencies, and families.
- Driving continuous improvement and maintaining high performance within the home.
- Managing budgets, resources, and staffing to ensure effective operations.
Essential criteria:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards completion).
- UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Previous experience within children’s residential services (Deputy Manager or Manager level).
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, or readiness to take on the role as a newly registered manager with support.
- Experience of managing budgets, audits, and performance within a residential childcare setting.
- Starting salary of £48,000 per year, with clear progression opportunities and annual performance-based salary reviews.
