Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a Bedfordshire-based local authority which is seeking a skilled Childcare Solicitor to join their legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied caseload of childcare law and related matters, while making a real difference in the local community.
Role: Childcare Solicitor
Location: Bedfordshire – agile working
Umbrella Rate: £50-£55ph
PAYE Inc Rate: £44.10 - £48.44ph
Contract Length: 3 months ongoing

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Provide high-quality legal advice to council officers and members on complex childcare matters.
- Manage your own caseload, including care proceedings, adoption, and safeguarding issues.
- Represent the council as an advocate in courts and tribunals, working with minimal supervision.
- A qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England with a current practising certificate/rights of audience.
- Minimum 5+ years’ PQE (essential) with proven experience in childcare law.
- Strong advocacy skills, particularly in childcare cases.
- Local Government legal experience is desirable but not essential.
- Agile working – there will be a requirement to attend court in person but the rest can be done from home.
- Weekly pay – the rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
- Flexible hours.
