The role primarily involves working in occupied residential properties, with some work also taking place in vacant homes.

You’ll need to demonstrate a strong trade background, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Complete all carpentry and associated works to a high standard in line with current regulations and manufacturer’s instructions.
- Accurately record time, materials, and tasks using a mobile device (PDA).
- Conduct surveys to identify required materials and scope of work.
- Contribute to a customer-focused, high-performance culture with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
- Maintain vehicle stock levels to support a ‘Right First Time’ approach.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
- Sound working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence – Company vehicle provided.
- Proven ability to carry out carpentry tasks efficiently and to professional standards.
- Experience in repair and maintenance work within occupied residential buildings.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults and determine necessary repairs.
- Capable of interpreting and following manufacturer’s instructions and technical drawings.
- Physically capable of working in confined spaces or awkward locations.
- Knowledge and practical experience of safe working practices and legislation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with tenants and team members.
- Positive, professional approach with a “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure or in difficult situations.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet team and service goals.
- Demonstrates resilience and confidence when facing changing demands.
- Alignment with the Council’s core values and commitment to service excellence.
