Bedford Council are looking for an experienced and motivated Care Team Leader to join their Adult Social Care team on an initial 3-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and hands-on care experience to make a real difference supporting residents with dementia and complex needs.

The Role As a Care Team Leader, you will:

• Lead and supervise care staff, ensuring high standards of care are delivered at all times.
• Take charge of shifts and act as the senior in charge, making key decisions and ensuring smooth running of the service.
• Provide personal care and support to residents, with a strong focus on dementia care.
• Administer medication in line with policies and procedures.
• Ensure care plans and records are up to date and accurate.
• Support and mentor team members to maintain a positive and professional care environment.

About You To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Essential experience in dementia care.
• Previous experience administering medication.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to run a shift confidently.
• A valid Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
• Flexibility to work across a rota system, including alternate weekends and bank holidays.

Shift Details

• Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible rota, 4 weeks in advance)
• Shifts:
  
  • Early: 07:15 – 15:15
  • Late: 13:45 – 21:45
    
    
• Requirements: Alternate weekends, bank holidays, early and late shifts
