Building Control Surveyor

A client within the Public Sector based in Bradford is currently recruiting for a Building Control Surveyor to join their Building Control team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to contribute effectively to the provision of Building Control Services, ensuring compliance with the Building Act 1984 and allied legislation, while supporting the Council’s corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Inspecting building regulation work and making site visits in line with Building Regulation Level of Service Policy.
• Assessing and checking deposited plans for compliance with Building Regulations and other legislation.
• Making professional decisions on applications, inspections, enforcement, and matters of public safety.
• Preparing reports, maintaining records, and attending court as a witness when required.
• Investigating complaints and dealing with dangerous structures, demolitions, and temporary event structures.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require registration with the Building Safety Regulator as a Registered Building Inspector (RBI) to a minimum of Class 2A, strong knowledge of Building Regulations and construction standards, and a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience working within a local authority Building Control environment.
• Ability to analyse and present complex technical information.
• Confidence in advising stakeholders and handling enforcement matters.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £375 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £310 per day PAYE).
