A client within the Public Sector based in Lincolnshire is currently recruiting for a Building Control Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to assist in the operation of the Building Control service to ensure statutory requirements are fulfilled.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Handling Building Regulation applications, assessing for compliance and issuing decisions within statutory timescales
• Undertaking site inspections, supervising demolitions and dealing with dangerous structures
• Investigating breaches of Building Regulations, collating evidence and attending court when required
• Providing information and guidance to councillors, colleagues, the public and other stakeholders
• Assisting in developing marketing opportunities, IT initiatives and customer care strategies
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Corporate membership of CABE / RICS (or working towards) or relevant experience in Building Control
• Detailed knowledge of the Building Act, Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation
• Experience of assessing plans and inspecting works on both domestic and non-domestic developments
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience of dealing with dangerous structures and demolitions
• Experience of risk assessing and determining fees for Building Regulation applications
• Experience of enforcement action under PACE
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £60 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £50 per hour PAYE).
