We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bricklayer to join a local authority’s repairs and maintenance team based in Newcastle. This role involves working on both void and occupied domestic properties.
We’re looking for a Bricklayer experienced in repairs and maintenance on domestic properties. You will be covering responsive repairs and this is a stable, full-time role ideal for someone with social housing or council experience.
Duties Include:
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure sociable, full-time hours Monday to Friday. The hourly pay rate for this role is £18.58 Ltd (PAYE equivalent £15.94 inclusive of holiday).
You will be working a standard 37-hour week, with potential for overtime. An immediate start is available.

- Laying bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry to construct or repair walls, partitions, and structures
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Measuring and cutting bricks or blocks to the required size using hand tools or power tools
- Mixing and applying mortar to bond bricks together securely
- Aligning brickwork using levels, plumb lines, and string lines for precision
- Repairing and maintaining existing brickwork and masonry structures

- Proven experience in Bricklaying, ideally within social housing or council work
